My companion's name is Jade, an Australian Shepherd. I am a traveling nurse and she goes wherever I go. Jade had ectopic ureters and had a constant leak. This caused a continuous urine odor. This past winter, one of our toy fox terriers ran out of the house and hit a slick spot on our steps going to the back yard and fell about 15 feet to the ground. When she landed, we knew that she was hurt bad. After taking her in for emergency vet care, they confirmed she and broken her leg in three spots. They referred us to a veterinarian orthopedic specialist who examined her and explained that it would be $1700.00 to operate on her.
